So, for all those of you who have trouble seeing if the boys look more like Annie or Kevin, it's been tested and the results are that all the boys look like us, although Benny looks a bit more like me. Now, if I put a picture in of my brother Joe as "mother," it may have been more than 5%.
Try this website out on your own--you can even do the morphs, not like they do on Conan O'Brien's show, but where they see which celebrity you look most like. Thank you to Katie Starkey for sharing this fun site!

Of snow balls and snow castles
The boys couldn't wait to get out into the snow. First, they helped Daddy clear the driveway, using their garden shovel and a shovel for sand. Then we made snow angels, snow castles, and we tried to make snow balls, but the powdery-ness of the white stuff made it kind of difficult so we didn't make a snowman either.
Ben was ready to come inside, take off the wet clothes and eat lunch. Lou stayed out quite a while longer with Daddy to help clear the driveway and sidewalk. He's such a big help!
On the road
The boys stayed overnight at Grandma & Grandpa R's so that Mommy and Daddy could go to St. Anthony's fish fry up in Dayton. We had a heck of a time getting home today, ignoring the Level 3 emergency. Here are some pictures driving back to our house.

Temporary Insanity
Today Steve Raleigh's dream came true. We are having a true winter storm and I refuse to turn on the TV because it will be non-stop tie-dye camera shots of the tri-state area with a running commentary by Mr. Raleigh.
A synonym for "cabin fever" is "temporary insanity." If this is temporary I am a very lucky mommy. The boys are going nutzo today. It's partially my fault in that I told them that Owen and Eli were coming over to play and because of this muerte blanca it is advisable to stay at home. Kevin got home last night just before midnight and is now trapped in Mason for three days.
So, it was a legitimate storm this time. It still hasn't let up. I'll let Raleigh have his day. What happens when we are trapped in our house due to weather: Louie antagonizes Ben until Ben beats him with the nearest available toy and then Lou shrieks, Charlie can't keep socks on his feet, and I am losing my mind.
What happened to the warm weather, baseball and daffodils? The snow is not letting up and actually looks like it's getting heavier. Chances are not looking good for mommy & daddy's date tonight. Good news: Kev just got home, an unusual six hours early

Charlie's Picture Day
We decided back when Lou was a baby that we do professional pictures every six months. Charlie's six-month birthday came and went so...it ended up happening today, inching toward eight, but still at seven months.
This is my favorite age for taking to the portrait studio. Although he's mobile, he's very happy and loves the attention. At a year...not sure what to expect. And Lou and Ben were great! They were just happy that it wasn't their turn. When did getting your picture taken turn into going to the dentist? Here are a few of the pictures our new favorite photographer, Becky at Sears, took:

Lou's Art
I started taking pictures of the art projects Lou brings home from Good Shepherd because he brings at least one home twice a week. I thought I'd share some of those with you.

Warm, muddy days
Monday's temperature was perfect! On Sunday I saw that Aldi's was having a sale on rain boots and so after breakfast we headed to the super saver store and purchased a pair for each of the boys. The ones they picked out in the ad weren't available in their sizes, but amazingly they were completely fine with the ones they chose.
We headed to Glenwood Gardens for some good ol' fashioned puddle jumping. I had them in old sweats and with the mild weather it was going to be a fun day. There weren't as many puddles there as I thought there'd be. We met Grandma R. there and she brought a big blue bouncy ball and we kicked it around the field.
When they grew tiresome of that we took a walk and that's when their prayers were answered: small patches of snow. They stomped on the snow, stirred it with sticks, and got what they wanted--a mud puddle!! You should have seen the look of joy on their faces while they hopped up and down in that itty-bitty puddle of their own creation.
