Funny Quotes

1. We went to the park the other day where the boys were playing "superheroes." They were deciding who everyone was going to be and Louie says to Benny, "I know what superhero you can be--Super Lazy!!" I got a chuckle out of that. I'm sure he heard it somewhere though, I know not where, but it was funny regardless.

2. We had two buddies over on Friday and they were asking Charlie if he knew what his last name was. He told them (in his little lisp voice), "Charlie." They asked him if he knew his last name. "Yes," he says. "My name is Char WEE!" They did it over and over again and we all were cracking up. I'm not sure if he knew why we were laughing so hard.

Charlie Understands

Charlie knows that in order to be a parent you have to be a superhero--ha, ha.

I had to add this...

I don't why, but baby bottoms always make me laugh. So before I changed his diaper that morning I had to snap this picture. I'm sure he'll appreciate it down the road.

Charles the Comedian

This video isn't the best. The lighting is pretty horrible, but hopefully you can see Charlie in it. He has these two things he loves to put on to make us all laugh--elephant ears and glasses with a fake nose. I'll be making lunch in the kitchen, he'll yell for me or tug on my pant leg, and when I look he's grinning with one or both of these on. He's such a goofball.

Hairy Chickens

The other night we had a salad with our dinner and as a big fan of raw vegetables, I put in quite an assortment. I love mushrooms and didn't put any on the boys' plates so I could hoard them all for myself. By the end of the meal curiosity had gotten the best of Benny and he wanted to try one of these things that I was munching on.

Reluctantly, I gave him one and the first thing he said was, "What is this stuff?!" pointing to the side of the slice I handed him.

"It's just what the inside of a mushroom looks like."

"It looks hairy to me."

"Well, if you're not going to eat it you can give it back to me."

He sniffs it, nibbles, then takes a bite. "Mmm...it tastes like chicken!"

Funny Phrases

Ben started saying (all the time): " No way, Hoo-zay!" Yeah, that kid's going to need help in Spanish.

Lou woke up the other night with bad dreams. "I was being chased by scarecrows with pumpkin heads!" Ok, not fair for laughing, but this boy couldn't have been more thrilled with putting up fall and Halloween decorations, and now they're keeping him up at night.

Ben is calling for me as I'm about about to step in the shower. I wrap a towel around myself and peek out the bathroom door. He looks at me strangely, then says, "You know you're going to have to take that off when you take a shower, don't you?"

Lou woke up at 4:45am this morning. Whaa? I couldn't even pretend that I cared. He must have went out on the couch and fell asleep. After we were all up he said, "I counted the sheeps in my head!"

Charlie doesn't say a whole lot, but he is pure comedian. My words won't do it justice, so I'm working on a video clip that I can upload for you soon. Stay tuned!

A Few Funnies for Friday

We went to Mecklenburg Gardens in University Heights for my cousin Shannon's birthday. Louie and Benny had a fun night with Grandpa while we had a girls' night out, with Charlie. Mecklenburg's has the cutout in their biergarten and we thought it'd be funny to have Charlie play the violin. For those of you who may remember, this is the place Kevin and I had our rehearsal dinner almost five years ago!
When do kids get smart and stop doing the funny things their parents ask them, just for the sake of it being funny? I kept asking Ben to look at his nose, and you can't see it very well but he looked hilarious with his eyes crossed.

This is when he misunderstood me and in pointing to his nose he was inadvertently picking it. It helps the effect with him wearing John Belushi's "COLLEGE" shirt.

And not to leave out Lou, this is Louie the Turtle in the Children's Zoo. It's not too much of a stretch for this poky little puppy of mine.
